The SPACE 2009 trade fair will play host to the cattle (dairy and meat), pig, poultry, sheep, goat and rabbit breeding sectors, both French and international, from 15 to 18 September 2009. The event will be held in Rennes, in western France, in one of Europe?s major multi-species breeding regions. There will be a particular focus on the Salers and Simmental cattle breeds during the show.

Bayer CropScience and the Innovative Vector Control Consortium (IVCC), Liverpool, UK have entered into a research agreement. The project, which will initially run for three years, aims to discover new active ingredients for Public Health Products (PHPs) that will be effective against mosquitoes which transmit diseases such as malaria that are resistant to conventional insecticides.
